Is There a Cannabis Store Open Now in Thornton, Ontario?

Yes. As of 2026, Ashario Cannabis Thornton is the local AGCO-licensed dispensary serving the Thornton community, and it operates 16 hours a day, from 7:00 AM until 11:00 PM, 365 days a year. The store sits on Barrie Street in the heart of Thornton village, roughly 15 minutes south of Barrie and 10 minutes north of Bradford.

Thornton's small-town location used to mean a long drive to Barrie, Innisfil, or Bradford for legal flower, vapes, or pre-rolls. That changed when Ashario opened its Thornton storefront. Now Essa Township residents have a fully-stocked legal cannabis store on their main street, with the same Licensed Producer inventory you'd find at our urban GTA stores.

If you're driving in from outside the village, the easiest landmark is the intersection of Barrie Street and Highway 27, just north of the Thornton Cougars arena. Parking is free directly out front. For full address details across all four of our stores, check our Ashario store locations page.

Ashario Thornton Hours: Open 7 AM to 11 PM Every Day

Ashario Cannabis Thornton is open seven days a week from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM. Hours stay the same on weekends, statutory holidays, and during Ontario long weekends. There are no reduced winter hours and no Sunday closures: the store opens at 7 AM whether it's Christmas Eve, Canada Day, or a random Tuesday in February.

Here's the quick rundown of what those hours mean for local shoppers:

• Monday to Sunday: 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM
• Holidays: Same hours, every statutory holiday in Ontario
• Last call for pickup: Online reservations can be picked up until 10:45 PM
• Phone orders & questions: +1-249-733-9333 during open hours
• Total open hours per week: 112 hours

If you're the type who likes a coffee-shop-style early start, you can be in and out before your 8 AM commute toward Barrie or Newmarket. Night owls heading home late from a shift in the GTA can still make it before 11 PM close. Browse the latest stock guides on the Ashario Cannabis blog before you arrive.

Late Night Dispensary in Thornton: What's Open After 9 PM

Looking for a late night dispensary in Thornton? Ashario Cannabis Thornton stays open until 11:00 PM seven days a week, making it the only legal cannabis option in the immediate village area for late-evening pickup. Walk-ins after 9 PM are common, especially on Fridays and Saturdays when locals stop in after dinner in Barrie or Cookstown.

Our budtenders see a clear evening rush pattern: Thursdays and Fridays between 6 PM and 9 PM are the busiest, while the final hour (10 PM to 11 PM) is usually the quietest time to shop. If you want personalized recommendations and the shortest wait, late-evening is the sweet spot.

A practical tip from our team: if you're driving from Alliston, Cookstown, or Innisfil and aren't sure you'll make it before 11 PM, place an online reservation through our online cannabis menu. Reserved orders are held aside, so even if you arrive at 10:50 PM you're guaranteed to walk out with what you wanted.
